A NIGHT TO DEEPEN OUR PRACTICE OF RECEIVING TORAH - SHAVUOT WITH METIVTA

"...the giving of Torah is a marriage of Heaven and Earth, God and Shekhinah, God and Israel, and God and Every Individual." --Rabbi Jonathan Omer-Man

Join us Tuesday evening, May 14th, for a Tikkun Liel Shavuot. Traditionally, Erev Shavuot is a time for engrossing ourselves in words of Torah. With that in mind, we will be studying together and using contemplative practices - meditation and chant - to help us bridge the gap between us and the Mystery of Being in preparation for receiving Torah the following morning.

We will meet at the home of Marilyn Zweifach and Don Rossmoore beginning at 8:30PM and ending at approximately 12:00AM.

Space is limited. RSVP to Marilyn at mz@rossmoore.com or (310) 397-1411.

Directions will be provided upon request.

JONATHAN OMER-MAN BOOK PROJECT UPDATE

We are pleased to report that the book has reached a new milestone: we are currently awaiting the final draft to bring to a publisher.  All of us who have been involved in this project are extremely excited to have reached this stage of the process.

We are all eager to see the final fruit—a published book—yet this is an extremely labor-intensive process that cannot be rushed. Rabbi Omer-Man's teachings have tremendous depth and subtlety, and the job of preserving them for posterity demands attention, care, and time.

Rabbi Omer-Man has chosen to title the book Perpetual Pilgrim: Teachings of Rabbi Jonathan Omer-Man, and our hope is that this volume will bring his profound and original insights into Judaism and the spiritual life to all seekers, for decades to come. We have no doubt that his work will stand the test of time. We who have had the privilege to study with Rabbi Omer-Man directly feel honored to be involved in the preservation his teachings.

JONATHAN OMER-MAN HONORED AS ONE OF AMERICA'S MOST INFLUENTIAL RABBIS!

We recently encouraged our members to nominate Rabbi Omer-Man, founder of Metivta, for The Jewish Daily Forward list of America's Most Influential Rabbis. We are thrilled to announce that Rabbi Omer-Man has been selected for a feature in an upcoming issue!

We cannot thank our members enough for helping to bestow Rabbi Omer-Man with this honor, and for allowing Forward readers across the country to glimpse into what makes Rabbi Omer-Man such an incredible teacher.

Click here to read one of the testimonials to be published with the feature, written by Joel Stern, our Chazzan for High Holidays. And stay tuned for more info on when Rabbi Omer-Man's feature will hit newsstands nationwide.
